Frontend Engineer Intern

We are looking for a highly motivated and creative Frontend Engineer – Intern to support the development of a prototype interface dashboard for our Flood Early Warning System (FEWS).

About the Role

The FEWS will be developed in alignment with the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) framework. This ensures that the dashboard not only presents data visually but also supports effective decision-making and timely flood preparedness at every level.

This internship is ideal for individuals who are passionate about environmental technology, data visualization, and building user-friendly web interfaces that create real-world impact. Moreover, it offers the opportunity to apply these interests in a meaningful, real-world context. The internship will run for 3 months, beginning on 8th August 2025, and can be completed either remotely or on-site in Jakarta, Indonesia.
As an intern, you will work closely with our product and engineering teams to transform complex environmental data into a functional, intuitive, and visually compelling dashboard prototype. In addition, you will contribute to interface design decisions, receive mentorship, and gain hands-on experience with tools used in modern web development.

Key Responsibilities as Frontend Engineer

  • Design and develop a responsive web interface for the FEWS dashboard prototype.
  • Integrate real-time and historical data visualizations (charts, maps, alerts).
  • Work with mockups and wireframes to rapidly prototype UI features.
  • Participate in regular reviews and sprint updates.

Qualifications Needed

  • Final-year student or recent graduate in Computer Science, Informatics, or related fields.
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and at least one frontend framework.
  • Familiarity with data visualization libraries.
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
